Abstract

Boycotts have historically been used as an e%ective method of resistance against social injustices, and in Türkiye, they have been particularly intensified in response to Israel’s attacks on Palestine. This study analyzes the transformation of boycott movements in Türkiye, especially after October 7, 2023. It aims to demonstrate that post-October 7 boycott campaigns spread to large audiences through the influence of social media and tended to become institutionalized. In this context, commercial, academic, and cultural boycott activities carried out by initiatives such as BDS Turkey, the Action Committee for Palestine, and the Resistance Tent are examined, and the e%ects of these campaigns are analyzed. &e study seeks to highlight the potential contributions of the institutionalization and legalization of boycotts to the strengthening of ethical and political solidarity. To this end, it emphasizes the importance of public awareness, media support, and local platforms for ensuring the sustainability of the boycott movement.
